For nonprofit development & communications teams

They're already advocating for your cause.

People outside your database are already writing about your issue, speaking about it, and funding organizations like yours. We find them, verify the evidence, and give you the context to approach them intelligently.

How it works

Your cause in. A researched list out.

No database to buy, no subscription. We start from what your organization actually stands for, then go looking for the people already saying it.

1

We calibrate

A short call to pin down what alignment means for you: the issue, the framing, the language your people use, and what a great supporter actually looks like.

2

We scan the public record

Published writing, talks, podcasts, op-eds, local press, testimony, coalition sign-ons, 990 board filings, published donor rolls, and foundation grant records.

3

We verify what we find

Is this a real person, is it the right person, has the alignment persisted over time, and is there a credible reason to make contact? Anything we can't confirm is flagged as unconfirmed — and doesn't count toward your total.

Most engagements return in three to four weeks. The verification is the work — a list we could generate in an afternoon wouldn't be worth sending.

What you get back

Evidence, not just names.

A short list of real people, each one verified against dated sources, with the reasoning visible so your team can judge for themselves.

People are tagged by what the evidence shows: champions who speak publicly on your issue, connectors who sit across the organizations and coalitions in your space, and funders with a documented record of giving to work like yours. Plenty of people are more than one — the profile leads with the strongest and notes the rest.

A. Reyes

Evidence of alignment

Advocates for permanent supportive housing and has repeatedly framed homelessness as a systems problem rather than individual failure. The position has held across three years and three different venues.

Sources: Op-ed, regional daily, May 2025 · Panel remarks, state housing summit, Feb 2026 · Coalition letter to the county board, Aug 2025

Where you already agree

Your "housing first, without preconditions" language maps almost directly onto how they describe the problem. Lead there.

What not to lead with

They've been publicly critical of transitional-shelter expansion. Your shelter program is real work, but it isn't the opening.

Warm path

Served on the same coalition steering committee as your board chair in 2025. A direct introduction is available and is the strongest available route.

Recommended sequence

Reach out within the month. They're chairing an October panel on this issue, and an introduction lands better before that agenda is set than after.

An illustrative example — not a real person. Every delivered profile looks like this. Alignment reflects what someone has publicly said and done on your issue.

You pay only for verified profiles.

Unconfirmed candidates are flagged separately and never count toward your total.

Where this comes from

Every claim traces to a source you can verify.

Op-eds, panels, testimony, public filings — the material behind each profile is named and dated, so your team can read it directly. If we can't point to it, we don't say it.

What we use

  • What people have published or said publicly under their own name
  • Conference programs, podcast appearances, op-eds, and local press
  • Public testimony, coalition letters, and open sign-ons
  • IRS Form 990 board and officer listings
  • Published donor honor rolls and foundation grant records

What we don't

  • Purchased data broker files or consumer marketing data
  • Net worth estimates, wealth scores, or property-value modeling
  • Anything behind a login, paywall, or privacy setting
  • Inferred personal details — health, family, finances, or politics beyond the issue itself

Your files never go into an AI system.

Research on public sources is AI-assisted. Donor or contact lists you send are compared locally and never submitted to an AI system — they're used only to exclude people you already know and to find warm paths through relationships you already have.

Pricing

Start with a pilot. Continue at your own pace.

Priced by verified profiles delivered. You'll know your number before any work begins.

Pilot — 10 verified profiles$3,000
Focused — 20 verified profiles$5,500
Deep — 30 verified profiles$8,000
Multi-region or multi-issueCustom
Ongoing — what's new each quarter New voices as they surface, plus meaningful new activity from people already on your list — fresh op-eds, new board seats, new grant filings. If a quarter is thin, we'll say so and pause rather than pad. $1,750 / quarter

The pilot is a complete deliverable, not a preview. Continue within 90 days and the entire $3,000 applies toward a larger engagement. Unconfirmed candidates never count toward your total.

Questions

The practical stuff.

How is this different from wealth screening?

Traditional prospecting asks who has money. We ask who already cares. Wealth screening starts with capacity and works backward to interest; we start with what people have publicly said and done about your issue, and treat giving history as one signal among several. The result is a shorter list of people already connected to your work rather than a longer list of people who could theoretically afford to be.

Do you need our donor data — and does AI see it?

No, and no. Discover works entirely from public sources. If you choose to provide donor or contact lists, we use them only to exclude people you already know and to identify warm paths. Those files are compared locally and never submitted to an AI system.

What if we already have a prospect research vendor?

This works alongside one. They screen the people already in your database; Discover finds people who aren't in it yet. Different question, different list.

What if the list isn't useful?

That's the reason the pilot exists. Ten profiles is enough to tell whether the alignment we're finding matches the alignment you meant, before anyone commits to a larger engagement.

Get started

Someone is already making your case in public.

A short call to talk through your cause area, what a strong supporter looks like to you, and whether a pilot would surface people you don't already know.

Already sitting on volunteer and donor lists that have never been compared? That's Match — finding the supporters already inside your own records.
